Laser Capsulotomy

Most patients having cataract surgery eventually develop misty vision due to the skin supporting the intraocular lens becoming cloudy.  This is called posterior capsule opacification. It can develop months to years after the cataract surgery and it can interfere with your vision in ways similar to the original cataract.

YAG Laser capsulotomy is a procedure whereby a laser beam is used to clear the cloudy membrane. The procedure is painless and done in the clinic.  One eye is treated at a time so you are able to drive home. You can resume normal activities straightaway.
