Eyelid Growths and Lumps

Eyelids, just like skin elsewhere, can develop a huge variety of lesions. Some are harmless lumps and bumps, such as skin tags and moles that form the rich tapestry of life. They can be easily removed if they are unsightly or cause irritation. Cysts of one of the oily glands of the eyelid, called Meibomian cyst are very common and easily treated.

Skin cancers of the eyelid are relatively common in Australia. It is not always possible to be certain about a nature of a lump just by looking at it and a biopsy may be required to plan the definitive treatment.

Eyelids are very complex structures and the surgery should be undertaken by ophthalmic surgeons with experience in oculoplastic surgery.

Have your eyelids checked by the experts.
